Shower Foam Shipment Sharing

Last year, we had a new client who placed their first OEM order for Shower Foam, and the quantity was quite large—300,000 bottles. When we discussed it, the client said they would arrange their own logistics, claiming they had a freight forwarder they worked with whose prices were much cheaper than what we could find. We thought that if the client handled the logistics themselves, we would have less to worry about, so we didn't ask too many questions, just finished the production, passed all the tests, and sent the goods to the client.

A week later, the customer suddenly contacted us, saying that the goods were returned by the port! I was confused and asked what happened. The customer said that the freight forwarder he hired thought the shower foam were just regular shower gel and had no idea they were Class 2 hazardous materials. They didn't have the qualifications for transporting hazardous materials, so the shipment was blocked during customs clearance, almost delaying the customer's product launch

At that time, we were in a panic, so we quickly recommended our long-term partner freight forwarder, who had the qualifications for transporting dangerous goods, to him. Then we spent the night organizing all the documents: MSDS reports, dangerous goods packaging certificates, and dangerous goods declaration forms, which we usually prepare in advance just in case something like this happens. We then re-filed the customs declaration for him and re-routed the logistics. Although it was 2 days later than the original delivery date, at least it didn't delay the customer's big promotion, and the customer didn't cancel the contract. When handling orders for shower foam, don't treat them like regular shower gel orders. From packaging materials to raw materials, production, and final shipment, every step must consider the special characteristics of aerosols. Lock down these details in advance, or you might end up like us, suffering losses and almost losing customers.
