After so many years of researching and developing aerosol cosmetics, my deepest realization is this: A great product is never the result of a single flash of inspiration, but rather the experience gained through countless experiments.

Take hair styling spray, for example: how do you balance holding power with a natural look, ensuring the hair doesn’t feel stiff or develop white residue? We iterated through 96 formula versions, fine-tuning the blend ratio of styling polymers down to 0.1%, and ultimately achieved 48-hour long-lasting hold while allowing the hair to retain its natural bounce and avoiding that stiff, “helmet-like” look.

When it comes to hair retouch sprays, how can you ensure even, smooth coverage while keeping the formula gentle on your hair and easy to wash out? We’ve refined our 87th-generation coloring system to maintain a consistent aerosol particle size of 30–50 μm, increasing color coverage on hair strands by 32%. The product washes out completely after just two regular washes, leaving no residue and causing no damage to the hair cuticle.
